Nancy Williams BakerPosted By Mike Young - 09/27/18

Our neighbor Nancy Williams Baker of Williams Costume Co. passed away January 10, 2017. Nancy got her start in Las Vegas as a dancer in the famed "Dice Girls" group. She met her husband Newton Baker while performing at the Flamingo and it changed the course of her life. She started a dancing school which eventually evolved into Williams Costume Co. Williams was the first costume shop to open in the state of Nevada and remained the only source of custom made costumes for many years. Nancy created costumes for some gigantic stars in her time including Michael Jackson and Liberace.

The dress pictured is an example of her work on display at the Nevada State Museum. Williams Costume Co. closed in April, however much of Nancy`s work has been saved and her legacy will live on.
